ResumeEdge is a subsidiary of Nelnet, a financial services corporation and has been in the business of services to job seekers for several years. In order to provide this Resume Edge review, we have explored its website content, its reputation based upon customer comments, reviews, and feedback posted on the web, ResumeEdge.com testimonials we found on the site, and the results of our ordering and receiving an entry-level resume from the company. The following summary is an objective analysis of all that we have discovered.
Factor 1: Resume.com Services
ResumeEdge.com offers resumes, CV’s, cover letters, and social profiles to individuals who are seeking everything from their first career positions to major job changes as career executives. According to the site, there are “certified” professionals in 40 distinct fields who have years of experience fashioning applicant materials.
The site also provides bios of several of its professional resume creators; it provides sample “before-after” resumes, and has a blog with tips and strategies for job applicants. Every blog, however, turns into a sales pitch for the products and services offered by the company.
Factor 2: Quality of Services
We have to base quality on the actual products that this company produces. To assess quality, then, we have looked at the sample resumes posted on its site, Resume Edge customer reviews posted on the web, and, of course, the quality of the resume we received.
While the samples are certainly adequate, they are not unique. In fact, the templates that were used are very much the same as templates found on many of the do-it-yourself resume sites.
The feedback and reviews that we found contained some serious complaints, primarily that assigned resume writers/editors were unresponsive. In a couple of instances, customers stated that their resumes were late and/or unfinished, and that customer service was not helpful in getting the issues resolved. One customer stated that a customer rep named Jim was actually rude and hung up on him.
We ordered an entry-level resume, completed the detailed questionnaire, and made payment. A writer was assigned and we were provided an on-site method of messaging that writer. We had set a 7-day deadline and contacted the writer on day 5 to check on progress. We did not hear back from that writer until day 7, and she indicated that she needed an additional day. Finally, on day 8 we received the product. It was mediocre at best, but, even worse, it contained grammatical and word usage errors. We had to request revisions which took two more days.
Our Resume Edge review relative to quality of product and customer service is “Fair.”
Factor 3: Pricing, Payments, and Discounts
ResumeEdge.com prices are quite simple. There are three levels of resume pricing: entry Level is $119; Professional Level is $299; and the Executive Level is $399. There is a current ResumeEdge promo code for $20 off for first-time customers.
Pricing on other products and editing of an existing product is published on other pages of the site. For example, customers can bundle social profiles and cover letters for a discounted price. Other than these, there do not appear to be any other Resume Edge discounts.
Payments are securely protected, and all major credit cards are accepted.
Addition: Other Important Features
There are no outstanding features to be found on the website. However, there is the seal of a Resume Edge BBB membership, and our investigation did confirm this membership.
Summary
We can absolutely state that Resume Edge is not a fraud or scam. Beyond that, as we consider ResumeEdge pros & cons, we would have to say that there are some concerns about the quality of products and the adherence to deadlines. Writers and customer service are sometimes unresponsive. In sum, we are assigning a ResumeEdge.com rating of “Fair.”
